Biography:
Don Kirby has been a professor of range science at North Dakota State
University since 1980.
His research interests are in grazing management, range animal nutrition,
livestock-wildlife interactions, wetland ecology, mined-land reclamation
and range improvement and development. During the past 10 plus years, he
has been conducting research in leafy spurge control methods such as herbicides,
grazing, insects and their interactions.
With Team Leafy Spurge, Don is assessing the distribution of leafy spurge
near Medora, ND and evaluating the control of leafy spurge following flea
beetle (Aphthona spp.) releases.
