He has directed several studies of the economic impacts of leafy spurge and knapweed in the northern Great Plains. He has served as President (1993-94) of the International Association for Impact Assessment and as President (1985-86) of the Western Agricultural Economics Association.

Dean received his Masters Degree in Agricultural Economics from North Dakota State University in 1987. Since 1987, he has worked as an Agricultural Economist in the Department of Agricultural Economics at North Dakota State University.
His research focus has included community development/rural socio-economic issues, agricultural industry impacts, and natural resource topics. |
Randy S. Sell

Randy has a Bachelor of Science in Animal and Range Science (1987) and a Master of Science in Agricultural Economics (1989) from North Dakota State University.
He has worked as a Research Scientist in the Department of Agricultural Economics since 1989. His economic research background includes such topics as alternative value-added agricultural enterprises, various agricultural enterprise feasibility studies, and recently the impacts of weed management on land managers. |
