In an effort to develop a comprehensive biological weed control program, my research involves studies of insect/host plant interactions, behavioral ecology, electrophoretic analyses of insects to assess strain differences and host plant preferences of natural enemies, assessment of the impact of natural enemies, cold tolerance of biocontrol agents, habitat preferences of biocontrol agents, the assessment of spatial patterns and development of sampling plans for biocontrol agents, and the identification of methods to optimize the reproductive success of weed natural enemies.
I teach courses in Integrated Pest Management, Insect Ecology, Natural
Resource Entomology, and Biological Control of Weeds and Insects.
