Main areas of research and work activity are associated with the national implementation of biological control strategies targeted against exotic invasive weeds. The Bozeman station has been involved in biological control program activities on diffuse and spotted knapweeds, purple loostrife, Russian knapweed, dalmatian toadflax and leafy spurge. APHIS actions have developed and carried out plans for the collection, release, establishment, redistribution of biological control agents for several weed targets. Additionally the Bozeman station has provided for the technological transfer of information and education in the utilization of biological control techniques for private and federal land managers with weed control responsibilities.
