TEAM Leafy Spurge program participants like Jack Butler (right), a professor of biology at Central Missouri State University, answered ranchers’ questions about range management and leafy spurge control tactics at Spurgefest ’99. Spurgefest ’99 participants were extremely interested in emerging herbicide technologies, and Rod Lym, a professor of Plant Sciences Department at North Dakota State University, provided all the answers. Rod might have some trouble at his demonstration plot this year – all the spurge is gone! As expected, the flea beetle distribution was a big draw at Spurgefest ’99. Spurgefest II will feature another distribution as well as opportunities to collect your own flea beetles.
